ABOUT THE FRUGAL SNOB

This blog has been resurrected to facilitate the journaling of our 2018 family project 'Healthy Us, Healthy Planet, Healthy Piggy Bank.'

Like many people, we are increasingly disturbed and distressed by the strains that are being put on this planet in terms of waste and materialism.

We are a very ordinary family who have a taste for the finer things in life but we have come to the conclusion that we need to cut back on things that are harmful for us, the planet, and our finances.

The challenge we have set ourselves is to reduce waste, reduce the amount of meat we eat, reduce the amount of plastic we use, to shop more locally and independently, and to save around £10,ooo so we can do some more travelling (our great family passion)

I'm mum, I'm a Young Adult Fiction author, editor and event organiser. Dad is Mr. corporate, who works in London for a multi-national media company. Roo is our 10 year old Harry Potter Fangirl, who wants to be a chef or a vet. Betty is our 5 year old, fussy, hilarious, kale-eating, unicorn-loving bog-fairy, and we have two rescue cats, Winne and Misty.

Our average weekly food and drink and eating out bill was £250 a week. Our mission is to get it down to between £30-50 a week.

This is our recipe blog to a happier, healthier, richer, more sustainable life.
